Oreo Grasshopper Pie

Oreo Grasshopper pie is a delicious dessert that typically consists of a chocolate cookie crust and a layer of mint-flavored cream filling. The filling is usually made with cream cheese, whipped cream, peppermint extract and crumbled Oreo cookies, which gives the pie a creamy and crunchy texture. Some recipes also include green food coloring to give the pie a vibrant green color, reminiscent of a grasshopper. Oreo Grasshopper pie is often served chilled and makes for a refreshing and indulgent dessert, especially during the warmer months.
5 Tablespoons butter, melted
Filling:
8 oz cream cheese
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tub Cool Whip/Whipped Topping (you can also make your own whipped cream
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 drops green food gel (optional)
Mix crushed Oreos and butter together and press into a greased pie plate. Refrigerate 10-15 minutes.
Mix cream cheese and pwd sugar until creamy. Fold in whipped cream (you can save some to decorate the top, but that’s optional.) Stir in extract, coloring and crushed Oreos. Spoon into pie plate. Garnish as desired. Chill one hour before serving.
*note: you can omit the coloring and extract to make just the Oreo Pie
